What seems like a million years ago but was only back in Jan we celebrated Australia Day 2011.
We took the kids out for breakfast early and then thought we would be original and head to the beach.
Why do men turn 50+, buy a $2000 bike and a lot of Lycra and sit around beach cafes all weekend? With a lot of other 50+ year old men?

The beach was great. Of course every other bogan goes to the beach on Aus Day (so we fit right in) we tried to go early and leave early. It was still packed but any day at the beach is fun.
We ended up at Cath's for tea. We partook in the very Australia tradition of Carrot Cake and Berry Cheesecake for desert.
The kids washed up 'cos they are good Aussie kids.
