NOT SO Fancy Pants

Here's me today

and here's me with my fake smile.

Alternative titles for this post:

What I wore Wednesday except its Thursday.

How I thought I looked alright until I saw these pictures.

Why does my face look like uncooked pizza dough?

Wearing a vest makes me look like a barrel for shizzle.

I'm short and I need to take these jeans up.

The children are gone and I'm bored enough to post pics of me me me.

Ok maybe its the adage that women mainly dress for other women ... and I work with 10 blokes but I seem to feel the need to stick my lame outfits on the blog.

Oh well

The deets (if you too want to look like a barrel)

Black Wedges ~ Big W
Jeans ~ Esprit
White Shirt ~ K Mart
Grey Vest ~ Op Shop (thought it was a great buy until about an hour ago lol)
Pearl/silver/black charm bracelets ~ Sportsgirl
Ring ~ Palas Online

Doing what I do best aka Fancy Pants

Writing about myself that is.

Remember my blog friend Kym? She is doing a Fancy Pants post for the entire month of June. It is both fascinating and addictive.

She inspired me to rabbit on about this outfit.

Jeans : Kmart (I'm classy what can I say).

Boots : DFO Brisbane (I may have mentioned them before).

Black Long Sleeve Top: Just Jeans (purchased before I started boycotting their stores because they played Cee Lo Green's F You Song whilst I was shopping with Lu... and no it wasn't Forget You).

Pink Tunic: Retro Op Shop @ St Kilda ( This shop was both awesome and cheap and the gorgeous and fabulously dressed shop assistant was so nice. It was only after we walked out that Anitra informed me she was a man. That's why she looked so good in her 60's mini dress... great legs).

Black Velvet Jacket: St Vinnie's Op Shop. (This jacket is so old its made in Japan. Nothing is made in Japan anymore).

Silver Bangle : Jag.

Silver Necklace : Sussan.

Ring: Diva.

and the comment of the day goes to my photographer David after I said "take my photo" he replied

"okay - but your not selling yourself on ebay are you?"

Fancy Pants aka I love people

I'm nosy about peeps.
That's why I love blogs so much. I love the details. I love seeing what other people (usually other mums) are wearing to work or doing with their kids or how they are decorating their houses or even what they are cooking for tea. I love it in real life and in the blog world. I am often tempted to ask complete strangers where they got that necklace or shoes or handbag. OK often I do ask them and they smile awkwardly and move away quickly. I am especially intrigued by the concept of "style" and why some people can put together an outfit and look stunning regardless of cost or "infashioness". Now I'm just making up words.
There is a Mum at Bears school who is slightly "famous" and I am fascinated by her "look". Vyc tells me off for trying to stalk her (as if ... she is always surrounded by a million people at every school function we attend) but I just want to go up to her and say "where did you get those boots/ring/dress? and how do you manage your teenagers and what are you having for lunch?".

I need help obviously ... thank goodness I have blogs.

Some of my favourite blog posts are from people who I respect and admire discussing the detail of the everyday. Whether that be their wardrobe or their latest shopping expedition or what recipes they are loving or their new rug. If they provide pics I am in heaven.

Here are just some of my faves:

Brooke (Mum of 4 ... yes she has 4 babies and looks this fantastic and she is funny too) talks abouts the do and donts of Leggings. Love it. I broke most of her rules this Christmas but still love it.

Jessica (Who is anything but Everyday) talks about how she specifically went about getting a new wardrobe for a special trip she took with her Hubby.

and here Stie talks about leggings AND shows off her gorgeous boots. Stie is almost as famous as Oprah (354 followers yikes) but in my blog stalking opinion she is a really down to earth girl.

http://stiesthoughts.blogspot.com/2010/12/once-again-your-opinions-are-desired.html

and so this leads me to a really beautiful Aussie Blogger and Tweeter Kymmie . I adore reading her series of posts titled Fancy Pants. Its blogging gold for me because she takes some really clever shots of herself and then details whats she is wearing. So simple so fun so addictive.

To follow is my post which is a blatant rip off of that concept executed terribly with really crappy photog skills ... are you pumped or what?

This week I had to go to see the accountant so made a bit of an effort.

As a photographer Lulu makes a great Guinea Pig holder.

Tiny bit better ... you get the idea. Singlet, Skinny belt, Black pants, Sandals and Handbag.
I always thought Kate Moss was overrated in her abilities to stand and stare but posing is hard. Sorry Kate. No wonder you take so many recreational drugs ... you have a tough gig Girlfriend.

So the Deets
Singlet from Metalicus ($20 on sale I know usually $20 buys you a button at Metalicus)
Pants and Belt from Esprit ($55 on sale)
Shoes from Diana Ferrari ($ 49 on sale at Myers)
Bag from NOVO ($10 at St Vinnie's I know )
Necklace from Najo (no idea how much as it was a gift from David for out 12th wedding anniversary)
So there it is: I'm cheap and only buy stuff on sale, I have no idea how to pose properly or take a good pic. But I do have some very stylish blog friends which counts for something.
